Uvaggio Moscato Secco, 2012, Lodi, California

14 Jan

DSC03191The trend for Moscato these days tends toward the sweet and bubbly, but this is dry (“secco”), still white wine from Lodi, California. It’s got a lovely floral perfume graced by honeyed peach notes. The peaches repeat on the palate alongside ripe melon and citrus components. Crisp acidity means it works well with rich, spicy turkey chili, but it’s also fun to sip solo. $12
